This website is about any and everything that sparks the creative genius in all of us. By profession I am a Graphic Designer, and enjoy all aspects of design. From traditional to urban from resin to vinyl, these are all great mediums and deserve to be explored. On top of that everything from music to movies from guns to graffiti.
The place was packed and the art was popping off the walls especially the graffiti done by Cope2 and Queen Andrea on the outside walls, not to mention the fantastic Scion... such eye catching colors and designs, and quite a few artists involved in the show came out to show their support. This was truly a showcase of urban art and graphic design, and if you missed the opening night no worries because you have until June 19th to head out to see this in person! Hit the jump for more photos!
Last Friday we teased you HERE with an awesome underwater image of DMS's latest resin release he is calling "Specimens", well now these have surfaced and are ready to be released! These are the first 2 test versions of an ongoing series of one off handmade resin plaster figures from DMS, and according to him "this is just the beginning, creatures of all shapes, sizes and colors will be collected as Specimens." The two version above are different in size and shape as Specimen #1 measures 2" long and Specimen #2 is 3.75" long. ModNation Racers is a game coming out in just about 2 weeks for the PlayStation 3 and it features kart racing at its finest, and allows for some pretty amazing character and vehicle customization. It seems as though Sony has drawn alot of inspiration from designer vinyl and they incorporated this into the game, and they also went on site to Huck Gee's studio to catch up with him. This video is really cool and it shows Huck designing in game and bringing his SkullHead character to life, not to mention an all out race at the end with fellow artist Jesse Hernandez!

Smash Tokyo Toys have released the template for their upcoming DIY robot SEISMIC ACE and have attached a special announcement. Mattyboombatty has released this message alongside the template: "At the start of 2011 we'll be releasing SEISMIC ACE: Camo Ace and SEISMIC ACE: Zoological Ace so we'll be looking for two artists/customizers to put their designs on the ACE and we'll do a run of each of those designs... a type of artists series if you will. This means two lucky guys/girls get an opportunity to show off their mad, sizzlin' design skills to the world".
The themes are CAMOFLAGE: What would happen if ACE's camo-hull went on the fritz when he was in an urban environment? and ZOO-OLOGY: Animals, animals, animals... ACE as an animal, ACE covered in animals, ACE as a totem...as long as it's an animal related design it'll be styling. Customiszrs are limited to three colors (black MUST be included since outlines are included as a color at factory! If you use outlines in black it needs to be one of your three.) Everyone's designs will be considered including new artists on the scene and there will be NO favoritism. All styles welcome but they must be ORIGINAL... no superheroes, cartoon or video game characters. Start sending your templates to smashtokyotoys@hotmail.com or show them off at their Facebook page. More information will come after SEISMIC ACE's Release later this year.
Mattyboombatty also hinted at a super limited "dead teen pilots" for SEISMIC ACE resin release on Facebook recently and is looking for a customizer with sculpting skills to work on this project saying: "So we know that all giant super robots in the 70s have these teenage pilots...well have you ever noticed that they never wear seat-belts? Seismic Ace's pilots forgot to wear their seat-belts and the first time he fell over they all died hideously from the impact. So expect there to be a release of all the pilots as jumpsuit wearing skeletons at some point. Woo!"

We just received a new little sneak peek a few new Dunny designs for Custom Toy Union's Blind Box Series One! First up is the horror-ific design by B.A.L.D. as he takes a stab at a classic Jason'esc design he is calling "Back Stabber"... now the question I have is the mask going to be removable, or painted on... either way the design is rad, and designs like this never get old to me.
Next up is the very whimsical design by artist Indescribble titled "Hidden". This design, previous to the one posted above, is a whole diffrent approach to the platform and has very strong design elements, and to me seems very butterfly like. The contrast of the white and blue on the black body really pop and if executed well this could be one of my favorite designs thus far. Keep your eyes peeled for more images in the weeks to come!
The Steve Brown Gallery has been putting out some extremely cool products as of late, and they just announced that there is going to be another limited edition artist Yo-Yo about to drop this Thursday, May 13th 2010, and will feature the artwork of Cleveland artist and illustrator, Chris Ryniak. Just like the previous releases these designs are laser engraved into a nice maple blank from YoYo Factory. As a special bonus for this release, each order will receive a coupon code good for 10% off the limited edition Chris Ryniak watch, produced by Vannen Watches. Chris' design will be limited to 45 pieces worldwide, and will never be manufactured again. You can pick this up HERE for only $15 on the date stated above... FANTASTIC. Don't sleep on these folks as the past two releases have sold out fast!

The guys over at 2PetalRose have just announced that they will stop production on their samurai customs for an unspecified time, and have decided to release of 25 pieces worldwide... what a sweet figure btw! Included with this figure is the Kombat King Figure, Samurai Helmet, Shoulder Armour, Sword, Staff, Base and Backdrop. These measure from the base to the tip of the Helmet front is 7.5", so it is a nice looking solid piece of hand made/painted resin. 20 of these were released yesterday for pre-order, and the other 5 will be available on the day of release, June 4th 2010. These are going to set ya back about $120, but well worth it in the superior level of craftsmanship that goes into each figure!
ThreeA Toys celebrated their one year anniversary with a bang last year by releasing their fantastic DIY Bambaboss. This was a 24 hour period and these things sold like hotcakes... shoot I even bought 2. Now look what they have planned for their upcoming 2nd Anniversary... it looks like we might be seeing another "Aniversary" release of this Bambaboss, but not DIY this time around, and as you can see from the very blurry teaser, it appears that we are getting some color this time around. No more info has been released other that of the date, June 23, so stay tuned for more details!
Have you ever wondered what Lulubell Toy Bodega has to offer in the way of designer goods... well wonder no longer as avid fan Isaiah Toothtaker shows us through an awesomley edited video what this great little shop nestled in Tucson, AZ has to offer, so sit back, take a few minuets outta you day, and prepare to be dazzled.
Snail Queen created by Spanish illustrator Arwassa is a small and solitary creature self-proclaimed "Queen of the snails". Arwassa says "Despite her apparent fragility, she is an evil tyrant with all the other creatures, and has been living with her subjects in a deep, wet forest for thousands of years". This is an 8" Munny painted and sculpted by Arwassa which is up for grabs at Mondotoyz with other great artists customs. I really like the "Feminine" touch on this figure and the added length of the legs really makes this custom Munny stand out from the rest. If you would like to see more fork from Arwassa, hit up her Flickr HERE!
