The support from the community was huge with companies and artists coming out to support the scene and get their products recognized and in the consumers hands... and what a cool, intimate event to do this at. David Cortes, Argonaut Resin, SuckLord, Toofly, GoodWood NYC, Giant Robot, Marka27, Toyqube, MyPlasticHeart, BIC Plastics, and many other really held it down at this show... which I am really hoping to make next year... it would be great to get out to the "right" coast for this event, to mix it up with all these peeps on a very personal, down to earth level! Be sure to CLICK THROUGH for a full barrage of photos from the event!

Toy Street recap with Cookies-N-Cream
So you wanted more coverage from Toy Street... well thanks to Ganiu Scrills from Cookies-N-Cream and all the great images he just passed over, you can get your Toy Street Fix! What a cool event and just from the pictures I have seen it really had a quaint hometown vibe to it... definitely in the fledgling stages seeing as this was the first event, but really seems to have great potential for growth.

SEISMIC ACE from Smash Tokyo Toys
After the total destruction of their workshop Smash Tokyo Toys scrapped their BOHRER K16 project and remodelled the design to create a more detailed, chunkier figure. Renaming this new model the SEISMIC ACE. Deciding not to make the toy themselves they are currently having the toy made overseas. SEISMIC ACE will be a limited run of 500 in a white DIY and is a one piece head-torso-and-legs toy with removable arms for easy customisation. At this time it will be released in a blank white box with foam inserts to keep costs down.
Smash Tokyo Toys head designer, Matt (MattyBoombatty) Walls had this to say about the SEISMIC ACE:

Smash Tokyo Toys head designer, Matt (MattyBoombatty) Walls had this to say about the SEISMIC ACE:
"We wanted to do a robot toy especially for those customizes who delight in turning one complex form into something completely different, we're big into transformations. This is no minimalist form Dunny/Munny...this is for those people who like big, stompy robots but want to be able to paint the damn things in their own style. We're not lazy, we will release a color version next year but we're more interested in seeing what artists can do with our platform. We're also not greedy, right now we're just asking for enough money to make a second figure and that's why we're opting for packaging that's as blank as the figure itself...to keep the price down for the buyer. Hey, that way we may see some custom boxes as well!"SEISMIC ACE will be available in stores by (hopefully) late August across North America. Smash Tokyo Toys is designer Matt Walls, artist Kris Smith with 3D models made by Michal Pruchniak. Check them out on Facebook.
