Angry Woebots... resin "Panda King" packaging
Bic Buddy Custom BLOWOUT: kaNO
Title: Fat Albert
Platform: Bic Buddy
Medium: Sculpting medium, acrylics, and about 1000 king size candy bars :-)
kaNO took his blank 8" Bic Buddy and transformed him into another iconic childhood cartoon, Fat Albert. This is another character that works so well on this platform, and kaNO really did a fantastic job on the additional sculpting to bring this characterto life! The paint is so clean, and the accens to it make his belly large and in charge! Go see this piece in person at Crewest Gallery in Los Angeles on March 27th, 2010 and then at Zakka in New York on April 9th, 2010!
Bic Buddy Custom BLOWOUT: Jester
Title: xJ6m (based on the decal?)
Platform: Bic Buddy
Medium: Found objects, spray paint, misc parts, and microchips :-)
Jester knocked it out of the park with this robotic creation... where he took the OG platform , flipped the head around, added an awesome backpack and tubing, that really brought this custom to life... so dope! Jester's customs always have a futuristic look and feel to them, and they really catch my eye. Go see this piece in person at Crewest Gallery in Los Angeles on March 27th, 2010 and then at Zakka in New York on April 9th, 2010!
Bic Buddy Custom BLOWOUT: N.C. Winters
Title: Faded Memories
Platform: Bic Buddy
Medium: Magic Sculpt, acrylics, misc accessories, and a dead bunnies soul :-)
N.C. Winters always amazes me with everything he creates as an artist, and his 8" Bic Buddy is a great example of that. I really do love the addition of the long/stringy arms, the ears, and the additional sculpting... and the added weathered effect that he applied to the whole figure really puts this piece over the top. Go see this piece in person at Crewest Gallery in Los Angeles on March 27th, 2010 and then at Zakka in New York on April 9th, 2010!
N.C. says:
"The toy was fun. Been meaning to spend more time with sculpture, experimenting, having fun, trying to figure out new ways to dump my mind out in three dimensions. This was a labor of…something not quite like love. The magic-sculpt is, as usual, nice and durable, but getting all the details I wanted took some effort. Finally dropped some money on a fancy craft Dremel tool and some tiny files that made the difference. Still getting used to the medium, but I prefer the magic-sculpt to sculpey as I got sick of the stuff shaling off during sanding and/or modifications. More to come in the future, perhaps just a little larger. Still just getting into this 3D medium, but I think I’ll definitely be coming back for more."
Bic Buddy Custom BLOWOUT: Erick Scarecrow
Title: Bicbil Bear
Platform: Bic Buddy
Medium: Sculpting medium, acrylics, and 80's cartoon knowledge :-)
Erick Scarecrow takes us on a trip back into the 80's with this very awesomly represented character from the show Thundercats. Berbil the robotic bear was a character introduced later on in the cartoons history, and really fits the shape of the Bic Buddy very well! Erick did a great job of making this custom look almost metal/porcelain on the exterior of this figure, and the details are really spot on! Go see this piece in person at Crewest Gallery in Los Angeles on March 27th, 2010 and then at Zakka in New York on April 9th, 2010!
Erick says:
"My contribution to the Bic Buddy custom jam. Guess what 80s hit animation show this little guy pays homage to? I always thought the original character was so odd and especially the fact he had a family. Nonetheless he fits this platform very well."
Bic Buddy Custom BLOWOUT: SouthernDrawl
Title: Einstein's Circus Dreams
Platform: Bic Buddy
Medium: Sculpting medium, acrylics, misc toy parts, and calculated Theory of Relativity :-)
This piece by SouthernDrawl very unique, in subject mater and execution. If you can see in the above picture he reversed his feet and lengthened his arms and legs... then he took the shoulder ball 'n' socket from a random toy, and implemented it into this piece. To top it off he painted the piece using only bone black and titanium white acrylic paints... very stark in color, but honestly work so well, I love the vintage look and feel! Go see this piece in person at Crewest Gallery in Los Angeles on March 27th, 2010 and then at Zakka in New York on April 9th, 2010!
SouthernDrawl says:
"...Einstein never quite gave up his dreams of joining the circus. He excelled in many other things and had a very fulfilling life, but part of him always wondered "just, what if..."
Bic Buddy Custom BLOWOUT: DrilOne
Title: E.T.
Platform: Bic Buddy
Medium: Magic Sculpt, LED Light, Acrylics, Reese's Pieces :-)
DrilOne really took a step away from his normal "Military" type customs, and recreatd everyone favorite childhood alien E.T.! Dril said that he took alot of time to examine the blank piece then after focousing on the form it hit him, time to make E.T., where he extended the neck, added a ton on sculpt and even embedded an actual LED light into the finger tip to give it the true glowing effect, smokin work man! Go see this piece in person at Crewest Gallery in Los Angeles on March 27th, 2010 and then at Zakka in New York on April 9th, 2010!
Bic Buddy Custom BLOWOUT: MunkOne
Title: "Zombie" no real title given
Platform: Bic Buddy
Medium: Sculpting medium, acrylics, blood and sweat :-)
This piece by MunkOne is truly undead, and ready to eat BRAINS! I really like the usage of color and linework, and the additional sculpting on it, yet minimal, does the trick! Oh yeah... and the eyes GLOW IN THE DARK... sweet!!!! Go see this piece in person at Crewest Gallery in Los Angeles on March 27th, 2010 and then at Zakka in New York on April 9th, 2010!
Bic Buddy Custom BLOWOUT: Brent Nolasco
Title: Many life times have past.
Platform: Bic Buddy
Medium: Ave Sculpt, Wood, Plastic, Vinyl Toy Left Overs, Found Objects, Acrylic Paint and a lot of work.
This piece by Brent Nolasco turned out amazing, and is absolutely HUGE! The first thing I thought when I saw it was, how the heck is he going to ship that beast :-) Fantastic work dude! Go see this piece in person at Crewest Gallery in Los Angeles on March 27th, 2010 and then at Zakka in New York on April 9th, 2010!
Brent Says:
"This custom was a lot of work. It seems like it demanded and wanted my full attention like a child. The concept behind this custom was to sculpt a little more then I use to. The paint job is to be abstract and defined all at the same time. So when you are look at it you visually go from things being transparent ,translucent to defended. To construct the piece I used Ave Sculpt to sculpt the head and other parts of the body. With all my custom I like to use a variety of objects and materials to make the custom."
Bic Buddy Custom BLOWOUT: SpankyStokes

Title: Underbite
Platform: Bic Buddy
Medium: Magic Sculpt, fauxfur, acrylics, wood stain, glass eyes, fake bearjaw + tongue, found objects and alot of TLC :-)
This customs I had a ton of fun with, and tried some new techniques and materials... that I plan on using in more of my customs from this point on. This took about 4 full days of work to complete, alot of drying time needed for the stain/paints, as well as the glue for the fur. I am extremely happy with the way that this turned out. Go see this piece in person at Crewest Gallery in Los Angeles on March 27th, 2010 and then at Zakka in New York on April 9th, 2010!
