"Me Gaeru and his pet Koi" from LilJapan

Hiro Hayashi aka LilJapan just shared with us his custom piece for Dragatomi's upcoming show on May 8th, 2010 titled "Not Vinyl" and that is exactly what this piece is, not vinyl but sculpy, metal and ceramics... how fantastic! The title of this piece is "Me Gaeru and his pet Koi" which measure 8" tall by 15" long. When I first saw the raw sculpt of this figure I was completely intrigued now fully painted this sculpture has a whole new dimension, and the story is great as well. Me Gaeru's backstory:
"His name is Me Gaeru. He is a one eyed mutated frog that is the last of his kind. He has been through a lot of sh*t, loss of family and friends. Being hunted down because he is rare, hence the bullet shells, and just being alone. But then he met a koi fish that was super attached to Me Gaeru's eye that he never leaves his side. So now wherever he goes, he is on the back of his pet koi fish and is having the ride of his life. The koi gave him the strength to live his life again in peace."
