"Black Market" is quintessential Black Maria, showing the work of emerging artists and established artists side by side. It is a great opportunity to see work by artists with international collectors as well as by artists who will be showing their work outside of an academic environment for the first time. The idea is to both poke gentle fun at the cosmopolitan shopping experience and, on a serious note, remind ourselves of the spiritual rewards of appreciating and owning great art. In keeping with the shopping mall theme, patrons will also be able to take with them whatever they purchase, just as they would in a store.
A painting can be as satisfying as wearing a sexy dress or owning a feature-laden barbecue, except there is an actual, sometimes life-changing meaning waiting to be derived from a work of art. Hence the subtitle of the exhibition:Skip the Mall.

He lands, and famished, finds a sack lunch on the ground. Perfect! Except for one thing: There's a family inside, but Fliggins doesn't notice until he takes a bite. It gets worse when Fliggins realizes the very basket he's been using for his airship once belonged to this Hobo Sandwich and his family. Ugh! There's much more that's revealed as Fliggins figures out his next step, including an EPIC BATTLE!
NOTE: This is the 11th of 12 Discoveries. Available Thursday Nov 19th @ 1pm CST
From the tag:

The next is of Buff Monster’s new art toy, simply named, Buff Bunny. Mindstyle says that this is going to be an 8" tall figure and is slated for a second quarter 2010 release. If you can remember I posted about both of these figures HERE and now they are becoming closer to reality for Buff Monster fans... keep your eyes peeled for updates on both of these figures!
Monster 55 is a weird one. I understand, of course, that all these monsters are a little bit weird almost by definition, but this one's weirder than most. It came out a little differently. It's a wild-eyed creature. Wild-eyed, but also strangely zoned out. Somehow I doubt that 57 holds down a job. Or lives a life within normal boundaries. What do you think? Is it of this Earth? Is it dangerous to you and me? How does it survive? How does it gather food? Are all of its kind just as strange as this one? Or is 55 simply a bad seed? Please take a minute and help us figure this one out...
