"Order of the Arcane" Josh f+ Pearce solo show

Josh f+ Pearce passed on some great info about his upcoming solo show at Red Hot Robot, which is coming up in a week starting on November 13th - December 13! Josh sent along a sneak peek at a few of his pieces for this show. Josh says that the pics don't do it justice, and that these are some of his most detailed pieces yet! The entire show is focused on this world of mythos and Majik he has created. There will be many new custom vinyls, paintings, and a very exciting print release (if all goes according to plan). I am looking forward to the full reveal of these pieces, Josh is really making a name for himself in the custom toy field and I think this show just might push him over the top!

Create you own 1 off prototype using "Karbon Kids"

Shawn Zindroski of SNL Creative has developed and application where you can design and create your own custom designer toy. This site called Karbon Kids and it is really fun, and the best part is that at the end of the experience the user can choose to get it produced in a 1 off prototype using 3d printing for only $50 colored or $25 DIY. Please check out the site and create some characters, and let me know your thoughts. In the meantime I am going to try and find more out about the figures, what they are produced from and how large they are!

After some research we have come to find out that the characters are 3" tall, and the Characters are made from a 3d printer and the material is similar to rigid plastic... interesting... someone get one and let me know how it looks!

"Grumpy Ori" plush from John Cycyk Jr.

This cool plush creation by John Cycyk Jr. is titled "Grumpy Ori". Ori enjoys really hot weather and laying in the sun. He is upset because he was forced to move -----where the weather is cold and unpredictable. So if you are going on a trip take him with you but remember to turn the heat on high. John is still on the fence about Ori, so if you dig him drop John a note and tell him you love Ori! This is part of John's Modern Monsters series which are some awesome plush creations, and just like posted before you can snag them up at Shoparooni.

Garbage Pail Kids Figures

Cheap Toys Sculpt #10 - Thin Lynn

I thought I would mix things up a bit and shed a little light on a different side of Garbage Pail Kids. Sure, everyone is familiar with the stickers that were so popular throughout the late 80's, however what is not well known is that Garbage Pail Kids spawned a wonderful assortment of toys as well.

The most highly sought-after of those toys are the 'Cheap Toys'. These were a series of 10 figures cast in plastic and sold in small garbage bags. The bags contained one figure, a checklist and some candy - and were formally called 'Cheap Toys with Crummy Candy'.

I have an entire section of my site devoted to this wonderful - sometimes forgotten - piece of Garbage Pail Kids history...and you can visit it by clicking here.

Garbage Pail Kids is a series of trading cards produced by the Topps Company, originally released in 1985, and designed to parody the Cabbage Patch Kids dolls. Click the image below to visit GEEPEEKAY.com for an in-depth look at the history of Garbage Pail Kids, including 1000's of images and detailed product descriptions.
