This website is about any and everything that sparks the creative genius in all of us. By profession I am a Graphic Designer, and enjoy all aspects of design. From traditional to urban from resin to vinyl, these are all great mediums and deserve to be explored. On top of that everything from music to movies from guns to graffiti.
A group of dedicated toy collectors and artists in Bandung Indonesia just launched a concept store called Lou Belle Toys, that has, vinyl, resin, designer clothes, books, and everything else you can think of to feed your creative need! They also have a small gallery to support local artists. This shop is located in Bandung City, Indonesia. For the opening they had music performance from Mocca, Bottle Smokers and Olive Tree. And an exhibition by Eunice Nuh a.k.a PinkGirlGoWild (paintings, toys and sculpture) which are on display.
They opened up this store and mini-gallery to support the local art scene and to introduce designer toys to a wider audience in Bandung. Most of the people there didn't understand the value of designers toys and clothes. This shop looks like it has it all, and if you are in or plan on visiting Indonesia, this shop is a must to visit!

Urban vinyl is a type of designer toy, which is commonly made of vinyl. Urban vinyl first made it's debut in the 1990s in Hong Kong by artist Michael Lau. Lau's efforts have since then branched off to a number of different artists, many of them which are graffiti artists, DJs and designers, taking their canvas and street art in three dimensional form in the hip hop arena and beyond. More recently urban vinyl has branched off into different medium including plastic, wood and resin. The process of making resin urban figures is more labor and time intensive, and are made in more smaller numbers in comparison to it's vinyl counterpart, thus making these works of art highly collectible.

Before we saw OsirisOrion's submission (click HERE to watch) for Phetus's Concrete Immortalz comic release that went down at Big Apple Comic Con, last weekend Oct 16th-18th 2009 @ Pier 94 in NYC! Now we get a look at what Mike Mendez aka NemO did for this show... AMAZING to say the least, this guy should be working in Hollywood, his sculpts are simply mind blowing, and this piece just takes it to a whole other level!
NemO says that " I've always been into original creatures, sci fi, horror type stuff, that's pretty much how I got started sculpting, it was GARAGE KITS back in 94 .If your NOT familiar with this, it's basically what all these dudes are doing now with the DIY RESIN pieces except back then it was all about realism, Movie characters, creatures ect... the only way to see and get into the hobby was to go to the CONVENTIONS, CHILLER THEATRE, MAD MODEL PARTY,S AN DIEGO COMIC CON... this was WAAAAY before McFarlane started doing shit, he saw the shit that was happening and then brought it to the mainstream with the MOVIE MANIACS stuff, that blew everything the fuck up from there cuz a RESIN garage kit, which you had to PUT TOGETHER yourself and paint would cost you at least $100, when McFarlane came out with his shit, it was a PRE-FUCKIN painted piece for like $30!!! shit man ,the garage kit scene was hurtin for alittle bit, but out of that came alot of ORIGINAL creative sculptors and artist, the GARAGE kits are coming back in a BIG WAY, or I guess they NEVER LEFT,LOL, but anyway I've always been inspired by alot of Japanese creature core artist like TEKEYA, NIRASAWA and sfx artist like JORDU SHELL..."
Now if that does not shed light onto the creation of this amazing piece i don't know what more you need... thanks so much to Mike for shining some ligt on where he draws inspiration from, and essentially letting us all know tat he has been sculpting for a LONG time now, so don't get discouraged when you see his amazing work :-) Keep rockin Mike, your work is top notch!

Posted up on Brent's Facebook page was this great picture of his upcoming production figure titled "Gordo" and produced by mphlabs. Brent goes on to say that it is time to paint all of these... which seems like a ton of work, but that is what makes all of these releases so special... each figure is hand painted with love by the artist! I do look forward to seeing one finished, the sculpt is amazing!
