Kumo-Kun Sculpt pics from Jeff Pidgeon
Jeff Pidgeon just put up some interesting images of a sculpt that he is working on for a new figure called "Kumo-Kun". This sculpt is based off one of his one of his initial tries at Adobe Illustrator back in 1998... which he states that is took him months to complete... crazy how proficient people are now with programs like that, but I digress! This figure looks really cool, and the initial sketches and sculpt really have great potential! What do you all think?

"Eternal Sleep" 1:AM Gallery's 1 year anniversary
1:AM Gallery would like to say thanks to their great fans, supporters, and artists, they've made it through their FIRST YEAR. Through the good, the bad, and the ugly from the past year, the most important lesson they have
learned is that street and urban art is here to stay. To commemorate their anniversary year, 1:AM Gallery is hosting Eternal Sleep, a tribute to Dia de los Muertos. For this exhibition, they have reanimated their lineup of artists from their inaugural year to haunt their walls with skulls, death, and the celebration of life through their eyes. This will be a mergence of the soul of 1:AM with graffiti writers/artists being displayed alongside fine artists, photographers, sculptors, and custom toy designers. Eternal Sleep epitomizes what 1:AM strives to accomplish, bringing people from different walks of life together.
The diverse artist lineup:
Peter Gronquist, Mear One, Mark Bode, 64 Colors, Alice Koswara, Bam, Bryn Taylor, Camer, Carlos A, Dave Crosland, Dia, Dril One, Eli Leppert, Hyde, Jessico, Jorone, Josh Ellingson, King 157, Kob, KRK Ryden, Lango, Laurel Anderson, Lawrence Yang, Lily Black, Nate1, Oliver Fader, Orly Locquaio, Peabe, Pete Castro, Phoneticontrol, Reuben Rude, Reyes, Robert Gonzalez, Sesl, Shawn Griggs, Stan 153, Toro, Twick, Vogue
Expect nothing less than a spectrum of art strumming the joyful and mournful tones of life and death that will reverberate to the deepest parts of your soul. Opening reception is tonight, October 16th, 2009 from 7 – 10pm. DJ Don Kainoa, Spinnerty, and Bozak will be dropping the beats with guest turntablist from Abstract Revolver. The opening is a 21+ event. Exhibition will run through November 6th.

Martin Ontiveros & Jeremy Tinder @ Rotofugi
Two new exhibits are going down in the Rotofugi Gallery and will be opening Friday, October 16, 7pm-10pm. They have new works by both Martin Ontiveros (Portland) and Jeremy Tinder (Chicago).
Toy buyers may know Martin from his "Ojo Rojo" figure collaboration with Gargamel and/or his awesome re-invention of Booska for Max Toy Company...this is Martin's first exhibit in our gallery though he did participate in the original Toy Karma exhibit back in September 2007.

Jeremy is following up a hugely successful March 2008 exhibit in our gallery, and is also quite well known as a comic book artist and instructor at Chicago's prestigious School of the Art Institute. Another don't-miss exhibit, this should be good!
