Neon Monster • 2 year Anniversary Party

Neon Monster invites you to come down and celebrate their second anniversary in San Francisco, this Friday, October 16th from 3-8PM. As you'd expect from a shop that carries art, toys, graphic novels and records, there will be something for everyone. Peruse a selection of Kidrobot, ARToyz, MINDstyle and Toy2R warez--all at 15% off Friday only. They've got Dunnys and Qees and Uglydolls. They've got things that glow and Things That Hurt. They've got vinyl, plastic, resin, plush, fiberglass and wood. Buy blanks and blinds. Cases are always 5% off.

Pick up the new books by ELEPHANTMEN and HIPFLASK creator/writer Richard Starkings and artist Moritat, who will be on hand to sign. Typography nerds take note! You can "Babble on" and see what he "Sez." Hopefully, it won't lead to a "Shout Out" and "Clobberin' Time." OK, perhaps these puns on Starkings' fonts are causing you to "Carry On Screaming." Enough said, then. Don't miss your chance to have your books autographed by this iconic letterer.

Parlez with local hero, Reuben Rude, as he paints live. Having designed the Neon Monster logo and forthcoming exclusive toy, Reuben is an integral member of the Neon Monster team. Reuben's painting will be raffled off to the gathering. Hang out and chat. Just don't ask him about the year 2012...

There will be tunes and there will be food. Can't make it down on Friday? Wish Neon Monster a happy anniversary at tables #454 and #455 during APE this weekend, where you can also meet artists, Marian Churchland and Brandon Graham. Far away from San Francisco? Catch up with the monsters online and use promo code APE to save 10% on all purchases through October 31st.

"Munnyworld" figure details revealed...

MUNNY’s world is about to get bigger! As we have seen posed up on this site the past week TRIKKY, BUB, RAFFY and ROOZ, are 4 new characters all ready for scribbling, piercing, painting and posing just like the original. The thing that is kinda bummin me out is that these are all 4" version... not the larger 7"! Now I don't know about the rest of you, but the Mini-Munny has never been a good size for me to work on... that's just me... thoughts? These MUNNYWORLD figures comes with 1 of 3 foil wrapped accessories made especially for them, and they will retail for $9.95 each, and will be available pretty much everywhere vinyl figures are sold on November 19th. So now that you have seen them all, and know that they are mini's what do you all think, and will Kidrobot make larger versions of these if they are popular?

"BUB" another new DIY from Kidrobot

Holy smokes... another one?!?!? The KRonikle just announced yet another DIY figure this time around they introduce the figure as "BUB", their slow overweight DIY figure who everyone is always waiting for (haha just made that up from their headline "Hey Everybody, Wait For Me!") . These releases keep me guessing on how many more they are going to let loose, and actually out of the ones they have shown thus far this is my favorite, I wonder how big it is? Thoughts on this one?
