WKY's "The Goon" released on the masses

We Kill You's first edition of his long awaited new sculpt "The Goon" is ready to be released to the masses this coming Friday, October 2nd at 12pmPST / 3pm Toronto time at the WKY webstore HERE! This rad figure is hand painted and handmade resin toy by We Kill you and stands 6" tall, there will be an edition of 6 and these will retail for $55 usd plus shipping! Look for a few customs on sale as well :-)!

And now for a lil "Goon" backstory:
"The Goon is 2 heads, one small pea brain, and a whole lot of meat. Hired for his skills as a watcher, but no so much a thinker, The goon was originally the best body guard that you could have. Over years of "keeping watch" and being in the sidelines of spotlight with the celebrities that he was guarding, the goons vanity kicked in and he wanted more than anything to be famous himself. So he started to take pills that were suggested to him by a doctor in his email inbox. How this doctor got his email he was not sure, but he figure it must just be his luck seeing as the week before the Prince of Nigeria himself asked him to watch over his millions."

"For weeks the goon took these pills, and all he really noticed was a small bump growing on his neck but figured it must have just been a small side effect and it would go away soon. Oh how wrong he was! The bump grew and grew until till it was the size of his head, Then one morning a single eye and a mouth appeared in it. This was no bump, it was a full fledged 2nd head!! Since becoming an oddity he has joined a gang with Grobold and The Boss and uses his strength to help peruse the groups evil efforts.

"Beast Hombre" resin figure from Tone Tank

Tone Tank is a rapper/artist where over the past year or so has developed an addiction to bootleg action figures. This figure turned out awesome, and I love the story behind the creation of this figure.

Tone Tank says "You know the kind where they have five Spiderman figures with Chinese glowing chest action? There's also the variety packs that have every action figure that ever existed, in the same pack, which often have a big-headed Superman with a Samurai sword... and glowing chest, always with the glowing chest. Since then quite a few days have been spent trying to get my fix in Brooklyn 99 cent stores. I have also been on a quest to acquire all the toys I had in the 80's that my mother swears she hasn't thrown out... as well as the toys she wouldn't buy me as a kid. That crusade has led to many a night sneaking around on Ebay."

So he took his obsession and turned it into a reality creating a new hand-made resin figure titled "Beast Hombre". This cool new resin toy has 3 points of articulation and glowing chest action. This is coming to ya as a bi-product of Ton Tank's obsession with Chinese bootlegs and 80's action figures. There are only 24 of these available, and you can snag one HERE for only $20!

Kidrobot DIY Animals...

Posted up on the Kidrobot KRonikle with a headline reading "MUNNY Made a Friend" is a picture of what I am assuming is a new line of DIY vinyl that KR will be coming out with in the near future, not much else to say about this, as I am not a fan (yet) of the shape, but it could grow on me. I bet KR is hoping this is not going to be another "Munny Mobile" where nobody buys them and they have to give them away... time will tell. What are you thoughts on this figure, leave some comments below!

HARLEY-DAVIDSON PRESENTS: ART OF REBELLION

The ART OF REBELLION brings together 10 U.S. artists hand-picked by Harley-Davidson®--icons and emerging artists who are world-renowned in both the music and art worlds for their rock poster artwork. Their work will be on display at the ART OF REBELLION show Saturday, October 17 at La.VENUE (608 W. 28th Street New York, NY). The artists chosen for the event in the West Chelsea gallery district are Art Chantry, Brian Ewing, Derek Hess, Dirty Donny, Frank Kozik, Harpoon, John Van Hamersveld, Lindsey Kuhn, Tara McPherson and The Pizz.

“These artists represent the rebellious spirit that we very much connect with-mixing old with new, defying boundaries and creating fresh individual perspectives,” said Susanne Dawursk, Harley-Davidson director of Outreach Marketing. “The Art Of Rebellion is a must-see event that showcases the artists and supports the art community at large.”

Harley-Davidson created ART OF REBELLION as a forum for artists to showcase their work and interact with other artists, galleries and media, as well as give them the needed opportunity and exposure to help further their careers and leverage their credibility in the art scene. For the show, each artist will paint one Harley-Davidson Iron 883TM gas tank and they will also sell signature art posters at the show. The Iron 883--part of the Harley-Davidson’s Dark Custom line which fuses minimalist design with a vintage feel--evokes the adventurous spirit of the dawn of the 60’s motorcycle rebellion.

A portion of the proceeds from poster and tank sales will go to CUE Art Foundation. CUE Art Foundation is a 501(c) (3) non-profit forum for contemporary art that gives artists, students, scholars and art professionals resources at many stages of their careers and creative lives (http://www.cueartfoundation.org/).

LIL' MORT RELEASE PARTY @ Munky King

Munky King is proud to present the first vinyl figure by the renown lowbrow artist, COOP. Based on the original painting shown recently at his solo at the Corey Helford Gallery, Lil' Mort comes with a removable scythe and plenty of lowbrow attitude. The piece takes its name from the French phrase, “Le Petit Mort”, a metaphor for the spiritual release one experiences from orgasm. COOP is considered one of the pioneers of the Pop Surrealist movement, and now his vision is available as a limited edition vinyl. Accompanying the vinyl release will also feature original art work and prints available for sale.
