*Review* Ashley Wood's DIY Bambaboss

WOW...talk about limited edition!!! Back on June 24th of 2009, ThreeA toys turned one year old, and in order to celebrate they sold this amazing Bambaboss DIY edition vinyl figure! This figure, designed by Ashley Wood, came with three different face plates, and he stands a whopping 11" tall, and nearly 13" to the tip of his smoke stack.

The crazy thing about this sale is that it was only available for 24 hours, and will never be available again! This sold for only $46, which included the shipping, crazy good deal! Another cool aspect about the limited stock on this is that ThreeA wants customizers to really kill this platform, and once they are through, they are asking for the artists to submit photos of their completed customs because they are going to feature it up on their site via their soon to be, Online Bambaboss Gallery! This figure is amazing, and it really is a shame that it was so limited, I would love to see more people get their hands on this to customize, but I guess the limited amount of figures is what makes it that much sweeter!

Sas Christian's print sets at Dragon*Con

Sas Christian is girly. No detail is spared in glitterly glosses and painted manes, but only for the sake of self-awareness, not sacrifice. She paints unapologetic superheroes, confrontational with their knowing glares and feminist sarcasm.

Colin Christian's "Firecracker Minis" at Dragon*Con

At the crossroads where vinyl fantasy, anime, pop, and stylized hyper-reality meet you will find the place where sensuality and power transform into Colin Christian’s anatomically stylized goddesses. They are at once dangerous, compelling, inviting, startling, and available at the Circus Pposterus booth!

POP Artist Colin Christian’s current series of 50 cast mini heads called ‘Firecracker Mini’s will feature ten exclusive Dragon*Con colorway heads that will be cast in ‘glow-in-the-dark’ urethane. These 10 casts will glow once exposed to sunlight with no power needed. The original ethereal form was sculpted and molded by Colin himself, then hand casted, painted, constructed, signed and numbered. The head is constructed from white rigid translucent urethane and contains a RGB color changing LED unit powered by 3 AA batteries (included). This application allows the head to exude a slow constant color changing glow perfect to effect a darkened environment, via an internal bulb (life of 50,000 hours). The sculpture can be wall hung, or placed on a flat surface. This sculpture will be available and limited to only one to a person at the event. Each piece is approximately 7 ½” tall and will retail for $300. In addition to this unique sculpture, Circus Posterus will also have a selection of prints and t-shirts featuring Colin’s work.

Chris Ryniak's "FREYJA" at Dragon*Con

Renowned painter-sculptor Chris Ryniak has earned high praise and world acknowledgment as a ‘creature creator’. In its simplest definition xenomorphic means unusual or strange form but there is nothing simple about Chris’ artworks that are in high demand by collectors globally. His creations and imagery are at once compelling and provoking, executed with the power and mastery of an artist who brings fantasy to life…

Ryniak’s ‘Freyja’ project is best described in his own words: “Long before the civilization of and the natural world thrived. With an uncompromising power to create, destroy and re-grow to fit the needs of its self-sustaining planet, nature was a perfect machine, billions of years in the making. Freyja is the embodiment of that power that many have grown to ignore to pursue the cerebral endeavors of humanity. Protector and custodian of the flora and fauna that continues to flourish while the world of man inches toward extinction. Freya waits patiently until the day when the world is balanced once again.” The original form was sculpted by Chris Ryniak and hand cast by Mana Studios in siltec resin (hand painted, signed and numbered by Chris). The Dragon*Con colorway marks the sculpture’s debut and will be in an edition of 40. This piece is just less than 7” tall and will retail for $85.

Also available at the Circus Posterus booth will be a selection of original sketches, Chris’ new hard-covered book Shadows in the Periphery, stickers, postcards, and new limited edition prints. Chris will be participating on panels at Dragon*Con as well as signing at the Circus Posterus booth (BT 1) on Friday, September 4 at 3 PM.
