*ON SITE* Amanda Visell Dunny Signing SF

Amanda Visell hit up Kidrobot SF on the second stop of her multi-city Wood Donkey Dunny tour. Via her tweets, I gleaned that she spent the day on a toy jaunt pausing to take in local scenic vinyl from STRANGEco and Super7. Back on Haight Street, a small queue was forming. Many kids were in attendance, some as young as stroller-age.

Fans brought plenty of Visell paraphernalia for autographing, and Amanda was happy to chat, sign and doodle. I snuck a Qee into Kidrobot, choosing the dog shape, in deference to the artist's pet of choice. The animal of the night, however, was the donkey. Most collectors bought the 8-inch wood-patterned Donkey Dunny, and some picked up the matching mousepads. Speaking of donkeys though: tonight I was a mule. Amanda kindly personalized "my" Donkey Dunny for my buddy Kyle, who is a big fan. She gave me a quick lowdown on an upcoming collaboration, wisdom on dealing with crowds and a signature on my Vivisect Playset mini-figure. Nice meeting you, Amanda. Next stop for the Wood Donkey Dunny tour = Dallas.

"Polluted Youth" new resin figure from 2PetalRose

The boys over at 2PetalRose just sent over a great shot of an initial sculpt of their new resin figure coming soon titled "Polluted Youth"! This cool looking figure still holds true to what their past designs have been kinda an urban apocalyptic feel, but this time around their new figure is sporting a hoodie and ball cap, so not as "serious" as their past figures. This looks really promising, and for more info when it comes up, hit up their site HERE!

*Review* Oh-No Sushi by Andrew Bell

While at San Diego Comic Con 2009 I was fortunate enough to pick up these awesome sushi figures created by Andrew Bell! The blue version of the toy titled "O-No Sushi" is the premiere edition of this fine food product and this awesome exclusive piece was limited to only 150 pieces and retailed for $30! The standard "O-No Sushi" red edition, based directly off of Andrew Bell's popular "Never Look Back" art print, will be available at fine toy and culture retailers both on-line and off beginning this August, and this will cost $25, which is a steal for what you get! This figure is amazing from the paint to the packaging, this figure has it all, and is a definite recommended buy, and at the listed price point you can't go wrong!
