“Antidote” a solo show by Attaboy at 1:AM SF

Attaboy, also known as Daniel Seifert, presents “Antidote”, a solo show at 1:AM SF
gallery
. The show will include recent works that represent a swarm of his latest art in unlikely mediums. His imagination has been carved out by intricate detailed stencil paintings on plastic that project shadows, hyper-unrealistic color pencil drawings, hand painted resin cast sculptures, and an infestation of fungus style paintings. In addition, he will display a five piece plastic sculpture installation that he collaborated with sculptor J.Shea.

As if that was not enough, it would not be an Attaboy exhibition without his signature Gooberry. He will be bringing his popular plush toy with enhancements… pull a string and it talks. Gooberry squeaks in pain when you squeeze her pinchers, and cowers in fear from your every snuggle!

Can’t envision it? You’ll just have to come by the gallery to experience it first hand. Seeing is believing so come witness the 1:AM movement. Show will run from August 14th to September 5th 2009. The opening reception will be on August 14th, 7 - 10:00pm.

“Faces of Life” is a solo exhibition by El Mac

“Faces of Life”
solo exhibition by El Mac

Since beginning to paint graffiti in the mid-90s as “The Mac,” El Mac’s murals have become recognized landmarks in cities across the globe. These pieces, often photorealistic depictions of everyday people and ethereal women, utilize distinctive brushwork that focus on the human face and form. His artwork combines classic art themes and techniques with inspiration from Mexican and Chicano culture of the Southwest, pin up art, religious imagery, and street graffiti. El Mac perceives his own work as “the result of a life devoted to art.”

El Mac was born in Los Angeles to an engineer and an artist, independently studying art since his childhood. He has taken the last few years to focus on creating murals, canvases, stained glass, and continuing to evolve his celebrated brushwork technique. He currently lives in Phoenix, Arizona.
