Dave Pressler custom Angry Clobber Monkey's @ Munky King booth for SDCC 09

More customs by Dave Pressler of his Angry Clobber Monkey are starting to roll out, exclusivly for SDCC 09, and will be availabe at the Munky King booth #4539! Above is a German Afrika Korps ACM. Dave says that "It is not widely known that during world war 2 the German armor division put into service several captured Angry Clobber Monkeys on the front lines in Northern Africa. The ACM's were liberated at the end of the war. It is rumored that a Russian ACM was seen near hitler's bunker when he allegedly committed suicide."

Also there will be an exclusive run of 4 custom "So Very Dark" ACM versions. Dave is using Wild Fire invisible UV paints to do these customs that when in regular light they will just appear white on black, but when exposed to blacklight all the real colors show up! Dave is going to be hand painting every single one of these so they will all be unique.

One last thing to note, something that we have all been waiting for. The official release of the standard Angry Clobber Monkey will be September 10th 2009 at Munky King in Los Angeles. Many more details to come, so excited for this figure, and I am sure Dave is stoked as well, this figure has been a long time in the making, and finally will see the light of day!

Sketchbot @ SDCC 09

Well since we last saw Steve Talkowski's Sketchbot at last years SDCC 08 (Click HERE for post), he has made some MAJOR improvements on the whole figure and is now pleased to announce that Sketchbot is now in full production as a designer vinyl toy! Steve says on his blog that " I received lots of positive feedback and even some constructive criticism. The plan was always to revise the character to be more animation friendly, in addition to further refining the shape and features. It was also important to settle on a cohesive branding strategy for all the various elements that comprise Sketchbot Studios."

The new Sketchbot prototype will be on display at this years SDCC 09 at the DKE TOYS booth 4732! He will also be in attendance Wednesday during "Preview Night" and wrapping up his visit end of day on Friday. If you get a chance to see and meet Steve say hello because he has a ton of stickers and business cards to hand out, and not only that but this guys is a blast to talk with! Congrats on your success Steve, you deserve it man! For more picutures of this rad figure hit up Steve's site or his Flickr!

Coarsetoys is proud to announce their latest creation exclusive to SDCC 09 the Paw! Spectrum. The elastomer is erupting. Colors flash high into the sky. WHOA! I haven't seen pencil toppers since I was in grade school! JFish's Skeleton Rayola has become a pencil topper to imbue your writing and/or drawing utensil with POWER. You could even wear it as a pendant, a good luck charm perhaps?

This is a triple collaboration between COLOR INK BOOK, sculptor David Arshawsky and JFish, who originally designed this Skeletal Rayola, Color Ink Book's twisted cousin of the crayons we all know so well, for their fourth issue. There are going to be only fifty of these guys available at San Diego Comic Con, so get yours quick! Find the Color Ink Book booth before they're all gone! *ON SITE* "From Mind To Matter" art show featuring Brent Nolasco and NemO @ Toyqube

The opening for this dual/solo show (is that even possible?) was last night and from the looks of it there were a TON of great custom pieces created by both Brent Nolasco and NemO! Toyqube played host to this event and Benny from Tenacious Toys was on hand to snap all of these great pictures. This event showed all kinds of diversity from both artists, not only did they customize toys, but they also did some traditional painting as well, both showcasing their fiendish creations.

Brent killed it on a custom Keith Poon Hammerhead, as well as a HiDef from Kano, a Giver from Andrew Bell and a Cap'n Rot'n Claw from Greg Simkins. His style translated so well over each platform and really breaths new life into each custom he creates, it is amazing to see the transformation that Brent is able to create!

NemO on the other hand had some amazing original sculpts. Standing tall was a great Joe Pesci figure as well as a Joe Pesci bust that has an uncanny resemblance! He also showcased some custom "In Justice for ???" custom Statue of Liberty figures that turned out AMAZING, as well as many custom painted wall plaques, that just rounded out the whole show!

This show is running up until August 15th so if you are near the Flushin NY area swing on by Toyqube for a look at some amazing art from two of the best artists out there! Be Sure to CLICK THROUGH for more great pictures from this event!
