"Monstroctopus" plush by Chelsea Bloxsom

Hot off the sewing line are these awesome plush baby "Monstroctopus" by Chelsea Bloxsom. The tan one's name is Jurby, and the brown one with the monster juice is Squimby. They're both one of a kind, handsewn plush monsters, that you can pick up HERE from her store!

Here are some stories behind these creations:
Jurby's story:
Monster octopuses, or the Monstroctopi, are some of the most friendly and cuddly creatures in the ocean. Upon researching these creatures strange behavior, it was discovered that the babies of the Monstroctopi were so loving that they enjoyed floating around the ocean floors, not to find food, but to find other creatures to hug. At first glance it may look like an attack, but the baby monstroctopi wraps its tentacles around the creature in a loving, gentle way.

Squimby's story:
Squimby is a monstroctopus in need. He has a problem. Almost every night he chugs cans and cans of that green sugary sticky slimy substance they call Monster Juice©. He gets on such sugar highs from it that he'll roll around the floor for hours and hours, until he crashes, falling asleep in a pile of his own lime green drool.... only to repeat the process all over again when he wakes. He is Squimby, and he is a juiceaholic.

How rad did these turn out... and honestly I think plush monsters are the way to go! Chelsea is now taking on custom orders for "Monstroctopi" so anyone can have their own unique monster of their own! Just contact her through her site HERE and get a custom plush for yourself!

"The Egglish series" by Dli$h

The Egglish series is a steampunk styled set of 3.5” Babyqee Eggs by DLi$h. Each have their own unique character to them. With all the possible expressions, there is an egg for everyone! If you like drips, three out of the five designs feature oozing stitches that are actually CUT into the egg to give it a bizarre 3D effect.

Each egg is numbered based in the order of its completion. Each egg is hand sculpted, painted, and clear coated. Every egg also comes in its own clear acrylic display with a matching hand painted base. It’s the kind of packaging that does not need to be unpackaged!! How nice is that?! As if that’s not good enough, these customs are all available for $34.99. You’d be a sucker NOT to buy one. For more pics check them out at the DD Store.

Paul Shih's Maori Warrior *Release*

As posted HERE earlier and ready to be released, Paul Shih's new toy is an 8" hand-cast & painted resin figure character based on his paper diorama ‘Aotearoa’, first release will be the ALL WHITE EDITION, limited to 20 figures world-wide! It will be at Santos from June 1st, online orders to follow later in June! :-)

Santos
114 Ponsonby Rd,
Ponsonby, Auckland.
New Zealand

Paul says that he knows a white toy does not make sense and that usually white toys are blanks, but his Maori Warrior is painted white intentionally! He prefers that the natural light play the main roll in letting it dance off the resin's features. This in my opinion is a great idea... and I tend to agree, I see alot of toys out there where the initial sculpt is amazing, but once the paint goes on... the figure is ruined! I find I do this with my own customs, I am a wip :-)
