Beautiful Losers Make Something !! Kaws

Nike : Make Something, Kaws. from sneakers.fr on Vimeo.

This is a really cool video series that Nike does...a way to give back to the community, and they get well know artists to do workshops with kids...this time around it was Kaws...and he teaches them about character design. Check out the props that he brings to class, most would kill for those and the kids are just playing around with them, I dig that!

Nike Cortez: Innovation To Innovation Pack

On February 14th, 2009, Nike Sportswear will release the special Nike Cortez: Innovation to Innovation Pack, featuring the groundbreaking 1972 original Nike Cortez running sneaker along with 2009’s innovative Nike Cortez Fly Motion—a cutting-edge version of the iconic original that puts a premium on reduced weight in the upper by leveraging Flywire technology—both presented in one strictly limited edition box.

A special pre-release will take place on January 20th in Barcelona, followed by second special pre-release on January 31st in Berlin, before and final special release at other select retailers February 14th, 2009.

To celebrate this special moment, Nike Sportswear, in partnership with London-based tokyoplastic, a critically acclaimed directing collective, has created a 30 second animated original film inspired by the story of the Nike Cortez: Innovation to Innovation pack, showcasing this story of innovation from Nike Design.

The animation is centered on two special characters who are physical manifestations of the Nike Cortez – pure hybrids of classic style and performance. While one shares the classic style of the original 1972 Nike Cortez – he is old school, the other represents 2009 and has a tireless appetite for new things, ideas and experiences.

The animation premiered on nikesportswear.com on February 14th, 2009.

ORGAN DONORS by FOOX

There are 9 organs and a total of 24 characters in the ORGAN DONORS world.

Some info from FOOX-U's site:
The ORGAN DONORS toy concept has brought together some very important considerations. Firstly, I wanted to make something that everyone could identify with and see something familiar in the ORGAN DONORS. Secondly, I wanted to raise awareness for this issue/cause. And thirdly, I wanted to create something quasi-interactive with regard to the blind box and availability of different characters in the ORGAN DONORS world.Only 12k worldwide - very limited edition, very limited run.

All Organ Donors come individually boxed in a blind box concept - meaning, it is a surprise as to which Organ Donor you will receive. Some are more rare than others (Lion Heart, Purple Heart, etc) and all come wearing the vinyl hospital gown with the butt cheeks showing.

At NY COMIC CON they showcased the original resins - these are resin based, hand painted, and very precious.

* 24 Colorways
* 9 Organs
* 5 Points of Articulation

“Baby Chomper” 8" Dunny by Brian Colin

I have had the opportunity to be involved with the custom vinyl community for a short time now, and have really seen some great customs. Along with being involved in the community I have also participated in some custom trades, and the most recent was an invite only 8" Dunny trade. The theory behind this is that you create and 8" custom Dunny and then the moderator pulls the names/address of everyone involved, gives you an address to ship your custom to, and the same is done for you...leaving an unknown box on your door step with a custom from another artist!

I got in from out of town and this bad boy was sitting in my office...an amazing 8" Custom Dunny created by Brian Colin titled “Baby Chomper”...this has an amazing amount of detail and work that has been put into it, and I am proud to have it as part of my collection. Check out more of Brian's work HERE, and keep checking THIS LINK for all those involved in this trade!
