This website is about any and everything that sparks the creative genius in all of us. By profession I am a Graphic Designer, and enjoy all aspects of design. From traditional to urban from resin to vinyl, these are all great mediums and deserve to be explored. On top of that everything from music to movies from guns to graffiti.
Well it appears that these awesome figures by Pixefillu are finally available for purchase. You can get these 3 colorways of the Space Crab figure directly from the Wheaty Wheat website for $59.00 bucks a pop and you can still get the OG white color way from the site as well for $49.00. These are really cool figures and I saw the them first at VTN a couple of years ago.
I found all of this awesome info on NekoMagic.com, and I was very intrigued that the Japanese version of Amazon.com is releasing a collectible figure, based on the boxes that ship from Amazon.com to your home...not only that but there are instructions that if you buy 5 of them you can make a giant version!!! Rad!
Kaiyodo is going to release the Revoltech Danboard Mini Amazon.co.jp Box Version action figure from the manga “Yotsuba&!”. Will be released on December 25, 2008. Around 80mm tall, price unknown.
Got my friend Billy’s message this morning about this Danboard Mini. Yes, it’s MINI! It’s the smaller version for the previous one and it is 10x cuter. It just registered on Amazon.co.jp today and doesn’t really have any price on it yet. I think it should be around 1,000 yen. However, this Danboard Mini wouldn’t be shipped outside of Japan. Sorry for those who’s not in Japan (me). =(
I think the regular plain version will be available soon. I gonna buy five of them and make a “5-in-1 Great Danboard Mini”! =P
You can purchase these from the Amazon.co.jp website, and you can view the creators of this toy's website here. Also, if you are fortunate to get a hold of these here is the tutorial on how to make the giant one...if anyone feels like shipping one to me so I can review it(hehe) go ahead and contact me!
So I just spotted these over at Vinyl Pulse, and I have to say this is some of the best work that Fully Visual has done. I think Kozik's figures transfer very well into the metal medium, and it gives them that edginess that they have always yearned for. According to VP the editions are as follows...silver (ed of 60, $99), copper (ed. of 40, $130) and gold (ed. of 20, $160) and an exclusive black nickel edition which will be available directly from Kozik.
All of the ones listed above(except the black nickel) are set to release next Tuesday, January 27th 11am PDT.
Fairytale Of Berlin curated by Janine Bean and Matthias Bergemann
This event opens on January 17 at Scion’s 4,500 square foot Installation L.A. Gallery in Culver City. The exhibition explores the legend of creative life within Berlin’s sub-cultural niches. Berlin attracts artists with its substantial network—affordable apartments and studios, along with private and public international institutions eager to support artists of all backgrounds. The city’s creative utopia, with its solid infrastructure as well as a stirring subculture, attracts artists from all over the world, and has become more than a myth. The show will look at the consequences, both good and bad, of what happens when aspiration and reality collide in this setting. Preview some of the works HERE.
The participating artists originate from Germany, Rumania, Canada, Switzerland, Bulgaria and the United States. They identify with living and working in Berlin albeit in the most different of ways, but come together to create a subtle and fresh approach: Berlin as a new or old home is the common source of inspiration and friction. They represent different art scenes within Berlin, covering various art genres and techniques.
The 11 artists and one artist group of Fairytale of Berlin will show paintings, drawings, photographs, sculptures and installations. The artists are:
Erik Andersen, Paula Bogati, Vanessa von Heydebreck, Franziska Klotz, Mari Lou, Iva Vacheva, Ingo Mittelstaedt, Christl Mudrak, Irene Pätzug, Thomas Stüssi and the duo of neulantvanexel, Marian Neulant and Axel van Exel.
For this exhibition, the artists and curators will tell their own Fairytale of Berlin through their diverse perspectives. The opening reception takes place January 17, 7:00 PM – 10:00 PM and will run through February 7 at the Scion Installation L.A. Gallery, 3521 Helms Ave. (at National), Culver City, CA 90232.
