Wii Controller - for the dirty hippy in you!

So I found this on GeekAlerts.com earlier today, and laughed pretty hard. What will they come up with next. As a graduate of Humboldt State University, most should know about Humboldt and the culture that revolves around it, I was submitted to endless counts of stinky petulie wearing, dreadlock having, hairy hemp clothed hippies. My dislike for this culture grew, so seeing this Wiimote covered in hemp reminded me of this...but I digress.

This was created by DHRECK and he had this to say:
Made from 3 kinds of 100% natural hemp string on the outside, while remaining 100% functional on the inside.

In stark contrast with the original Wii-mote set, what was once sleek, cold, white and hard plastic has now become a slightly fuzzy, natural, warm and textured concoction. No more bland, branded and boring but mottled, flawfull, rough and a tad sweat absorbing.

The Hemp-Mote is absolutely playable, all buttons, accelerometers and the infrared camera accounted for. Unfortunately its exterior is also quite fragile and prone to degeneration, being in the raw state that it is.

You can go visit DHRECK's website for more pictures and information on how he modded this game controller, as well as checking out some of his other projects. Even though this is made of hemp...it is still pretty awesome, great job!

Electronic Tagging for the Masses

Electronic Tagging for the Masses

Info from ThinkGeek.com:
Times have changed since you got caught for doodling that cute girl's name on your desk in elementary school. Now you can mark your territory in a non-permanent electronic fashion with the LED Magnetic Digital Graffiti. This set of 20 different LEDs each has a battery and a magnet attached. Pull the tab to activate, then toss them on any ferrous metal surface... they stick and glow brightly announcing to everyone in the vicinity that you were indeed there. But make sure you stick the LED Magnetic Digital Graffiti on stuff you own, or are able to remove them later... because gone are the days when you can post funny battery powered LED signs all over Boston.
These are really cool, and for $9.99 you get 20 lights (4 x 10mm Red, 4 x 10mm Blue, 4 x 10mm Green, 4 x 10mm Orange, 4 x 5mm Rainbow Cycling. So if you are feeling in the non-destructive mood, but still want to express yourself...here is the solution! Get em' while you can, or before they outlaw these too!
