"This Is Going To Hurt" @ Alpha Cult

"This Is Going To Hurt"

We are blessed to have a network of artists that we have grown close to over the years that we've been in operation. But few have the bond with us that Mr. Brandon Sopinsky does, as he was one of the first artists to EVER show with us back in 2005 when we were brand spankin' new! His work was awesome then, but he has evolved so much since then (as have we) that we felt it most appropriate to extend an invitation to him to headline a show at Alpha Cult once again. Lucky for us, he accepted!

And so we welcome Brandon and his cache of all new artworks born of the theme of "pain". Physical pain, emotional pain, what have you, Brandon has created a mosaic of expression brought to life by the creatures and characters he paints and sculpts.

Exhibiting with him are: Adam Sikorski, Dana Chen, Deborah Sopinsky, Eric Anderson, Jack Rossi, Keith Noordzy, Mike Bilz, Ruben Martinez, and Sally Sun.

All are welcome to join us for the Opening Reception THIS SATURDAY NIGHT @ AlphaCult (Nov. 8) from 7-11 pm. Complimentary drinks and refreshments will be served, along with musical grooves spun by none other than our resident DJ's Púr One and Namo!!

The New Mars-1 “Electric Monkeyman” in Bronze

The New Mars-1 “Electric Monkeyman” in Bronze based on the original painting.

From BrinBerliner.com:
After months of hard work and a steep learning curve, we have successfully brought an amazing Mars-1 design to life.

In a collaboration with Mars-1, Strangeco, Artworks Foundry and myself, we have produced original, very limited Bronze Sculptures of museum quality. The sculpts weigh in at roughly 35lbs, are hand stamped with the edition number as well as Mario’s logo and the Artworks Foundry stamp.

This limited edition of 12 sculptures, with each standing at a sizeable 18″ high, has been shown in Galleries; one in San Francisco’s Bucheon Gallery, the other VPF Cream Art Gallery in Portugal. Each piece is unique, as I’m sure is easy to tell by the pictures.

I will have edition #3, & #4 available for sale.
If you’re interested contact me, serious inquiries only.
There are artists, and then there are those artists like Brin that knock my socks off. I love how someone can take a 2d painting, and completely transform it into the 3d, and with such detail and precision, this is an amazing piece, and I am looking forward to more works from Brin in the future!
