KILL AUDIO - CLAUDIO SANCHEZ

So it looks like this is going to happen October 25 at Toy Tokyo...I saw this figure at the DKE booth at SDCC08, and it was much bigger that I thought it would be...seems really cool , and I like the fact that an artist such as Claudio has tapped into the designer toy arena as well as the music one! This Kill Audio doll will not be available online, it will only be available at Neverender, and in boutique-style indie toy stores, (like Toy Tokyo!) This doll is limited to 2200 pieces and will not be remade! Oh yeah...it stand 7" tall!!!

PROCESS TRAIN CAR PROJECT

Photobucket

For almost two years now PROCESS has been organizing a massive group show, called the Train Car Project, which features 60 artists from around the world, ranging in all different styles. For the project, each artist was supplied with a train car illustration (shown below), in the medium of their choice; either as a 3-color screen print or a digital vector file. Once received, the artists had complete creative control to do what they wanted with the train.
Now, for the first time, the project will be on display in it’s entirety at PAPA B STUDIOS, in Brooklyn, NY from October 10th-22nd . The exhibition will feature all iterations of the Train Car Project, accompanied by an opening reception, October 10th starting at 7:30pm.
PARTICIPATING ARTISTS:
Abe Lincoln Jr | Alone | Andrew Keiper | Andrew Tomilson | Anne Coté | ASA | Audria Brumberg | Billy Sprague | Bird | Bob London | Bob Will Reign | Craig Atkinson | Cre Cre | Crockett | Damion Silver | The Date Farmers | Diana Delorenzo | DMYK | Dolla Lama | Dylan Bradway | Dylan Scalora | ERMONE | Frank Chimero | Gabe Felice | HXFOUR | Ian Lynam | Ian Stevenson | Inx One | Jason Gomez | John J. Lee | Ken Albrecht | Kid Lew | Koma | Kult Nation | Mad One | Mariana Martins | Marine | Max Lust | Minouch | Mr. Kiji | Neutra | Nick Deakin | Nitrocorpz | The Nose | OK Tokio | Peat Wollaeger | Presto | Robert Albrecht | Robots Will Kill | Royal Remarkable™ | Sean Sutherland | SHN | Sztuka Fabryka | Task- Focused | Tinico | Tomo | Via Grafik | Zara Gonzalez | Zezão
Look at tat list of artists!!!! This is going to be awesome, I really do like this format, the train car, it has the old school roots attached to it, and it is really neat to see a whole room full of these small versions! The really cool part about it is these are mostly all screen prints, so it should be pretty unique unlike the All City Style 3d trains! I snatched this info from thisisprocess.com! Go there to see much more on this show including some sneak peeks!

Space Invaders Tumblers

Taito continues to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of Space Invaders with yet another product announcement. This time, it's tumblers which measure 20cm or 7.87" tall and hold 16 oz of liquid. Pour yourself a hot or cold beverage and slurp it noisily from an eye-catching Space Invaders-themed tumbler. Three styles are on offer but we've got dibs on the (C) variant which features the blackness of space where invaders dance amongst the stars. Our second choice would be the red tumbler with black invaders which is stark and visually striking.

These are going to set you back $12.90 a pop...but if you are a fan of video games, or just a fan of drink tumblers then these are a must have! Found these via GeekAlerts.com which has all kinds of great stuff on their site!

SPEAKER BUDDIES by ALEX UNDERWOOD

Speaker Buddies
This design comes as a response to an investigation into designing products using EPS (Expanded Polystyrene). The design adds value to a material that is often regarded as cheap, unloved and disposable.

Speaker Buddies are designed to work in pairs. They can be placed in any environment and as they are lightweight they can be moved with little effort. Manufacturing in EPS allows for a wide variety of color options.

The design of the product is makes the piece appear almost humanized, the child-like posture carries with it emotions of childhood memories, as well as reflecting the youthful thinking and ideas of the designer.

A pair of Speaker Buddies would not look out of place in any environment and appeals to a wide range of users.

KAWS STORMTROOPER and THE LINE OF DEATH

Not only does this figure do nothing for me, but the thing I really can't believe is the video of these people waiting for the release of this toy. Then again, everyone has their own obsession...shoot I waited in line for the Wii when it first came out...and the line was not even 1/8 that size...crazy toy collectors!!! I hope the people that got the toy really like it...I mean REALLY, because if there is a flipper out there that got one...oh man...happy day for them...this is going to sell for a pretty penny down the road, and by pretty I mean $$$PRETTY$$$!
