PAPER CUTS - L.Croskey and Rebecca Hahn

Artist: Rebecca Hahn

Artist: L. Croskey

- PAPER CUTS -
L.Croskey and Rebecca Hahn

Chango is proud to present an exhibition of work created by L. Croskey and Rebecca Hahn. This exciting show will be on display the entire month of September with an opening reception on Saturday, September 6th from 7-10pm. On the same night as the reception, the monthly Echo Park Block Party will be rockin’ as the businesses and galleries on the same block as Chango will also be putting on fun events!

L. Croskey is a well rounded artistic human being. He is well known for his monthly event, Cannibal Flower and also has his hands in a few other galleries throughout town. You will also find him around town DJ-ing some of the hippest events and parties in Los Angeles. In this exhibition, Croskey will be showing a handful of colorful mixed media works.

Rebecca's work is a careful balance of hand picked elements including found papers, wood, painting and sewing to name a few. At the heart of each piece, strong women are portrayed protecting, cleansing, or watching over the viewer and mankind. Each piece is created with a deeply personal story in mind while on the surface paralleling global messages exist that each viewer can connect with.

The walls will be full of life at Chango as these two artist’s work
hang side by side.

HUCK GEE - CUSTOMS

Does this man even sleep?!?!?! Huck these look amazing, and people they can be part of your own personal collection Friday, September 5th @ Noon PDT for $600 each(for the 8") in his eBay store.

Spike
Coming next Friday, September 5th, 2008 at Noon PDT, Huck is releasesing a new figure in his Jungle Life series. We present to you Spike... awwww, ain't he cute! We're gonna be sad to see this little guy go, such a cutie! But something about this little fella brings to mind nothing but trouble. In fact, I'd be a little more than worried when Spike is out alone at night. Just what kind of hi-jinx does this little guy get himself into? And what exactly are those little evil looking claws used for? Now's your chance to find out. ;) 20 custom hand painted Spike! Munnys. Each is signed and numbered and comes with shown accessories. Due to the nature of the materials, some differences should be expected in each figure. 20 figures in this set, $600 per figure.
Limit one figure per customer.

20" Skullhunter and Skullhuntress
Also this week, we are happy to unveil 2 new custom 20" Munnys. We think the Skullhunter and the Skullhuntress rendered in this size are absolutely stunning (okay, we'll be the first to admit we're a bit biased but still...). One of these is going to the Coalesce custom show in New York next week and the other is available now for sale. $3500 each. Interested buyers, please email inquiries to sales@huckgee.com.

But flippers be warned...Huck is taking an aggressive approach to your devious ways:

NEW SALES POLICY: We realize that a lot of folks have been getting quite frustrated in their attempt to get their hands on Huck’s customs. Partly due to the artwork’s limited nature, but secondly due to too many aggressive resellers jumping into the fray. We do not have anything against other people making secondary market money off of Huck’s creations but there is a problem when aggressive resellers get between Huck and his true fans and die-hard collectors. So as of today, we are instrumenting a new sales policy: Any Ebay buyer/seller found to be aggressively reselling Huck’s limited customs will be banned from any and all future auctions.
We have been tracking some of these folks for a while now, we already know who most of them are and we will be adding them and any future resellers to the ban list as we discover them. We are aware some of these sellers are attempting to disguise their behavior by using more than one Ebay account to buy/sell, so we have been preemptively tracking all the custom ’s as we sell them. Going forward we will be banning both the buyer and the reseller of any custom we find being aggressively resold at the detriment of Huck’s die-hard fans and collectors. Also, any folks reselling customs on Ebay, and found to be hiding/covering the custom figure’s in their auction’s photos/description, will also be assumed to be an aggressive reseller and will also be banned from all future sales.

Look out, if this goes well I am sure other artists will be adopting this strick policy to help the "True" fans out. Too bad it has to come to this...why can't we all just hug and get along!

EMPTEES

This shirt designed by Alphabet Arm, located in Boston:

Alphabet Arm is a full service design studio located in Boston specializing in bold & creative print design solutions. You can view our work on our website: www.alphabetarm.com. We’ve always designed promotional shirts for clients + friends of the studio (but mainly for ourselves). It wasn’t until our 148th hostile email stating “why can’t I get an Alphabet Arm shirt!!! Henry has one, Janis got one, even old Miss Kensington was rep’ing one yesterday” Before we knew it there seemed to be a bit of a demand, so we thought why not have a handy little store to handle such demand in a handy way without getting our hands dirty.
Good stuff here guys, keep up all the sweet Lucha work, we can never have enough of this...viva la lucha!
