Killer Coke Machine Videos!!!!
Chris Ryniak @ Subtext for Beasts of Burden
I am pleased to say that I am very happy to have run across Chris's art on the KR forum, and furthermore it was a sneak peek of his custom YOKA he is doing for the Beasts of Burden show @ Subtext during SDCC this year. Chris is not only an amazing sculptor/customizer, but his traditional skills are by far some of the best I have seen. He blends his love for the outdoors, and bits and pieces from his life and comes up with some amazing stuff.
Preview night for Beasts of Burden is on Thursday, July 24th (8-10 PM).The opening reception is on Friday, July 25th (6-10 PM) and the show runs through Saturday the 26th.
Please feel free to check out his site or his blog, and view more of his work, and as always follow the link for more pictures posted of his work.
This looks to be a great one, but I still can't figure out if that mouth is on the head or not, really looking forward to seeing more sneak peeks!
Here is a little blurb about Chris from his own site:
Chris Ryniak was born as a baby in 1976 in the suburbs of Detroit. He spent his childhood basking in the warm glow of Saturday morning cartoons and flipping over rocks in search of insects, reptiles and ghosts.
Years later...
A graduate and former instructor of the Ringling School of Art and Design, He is now a painter and sculptor of all manner of critters. Chris' work has been exhibited in galleries throughout the US including Miami, LA, New York City as well as Hamburg,Germany. His paintings have also been published in numerous books and periodicals in the States as well as in Europe and Singapore.
Chris now resides in a coastal Ohio Dutch Colonial with his wife, two children, dog, cat and Venus Flytrap. Sadly, no ghosts as of yet.
